Woman, Age 19, Shot During Robbery on 21st Street Near Harding Avenue in Chicago
Police officers from the Chicago Police Department’s 10th District on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at approximately 1:30 p.m. responded to a report of a shooting in the block of 3900 West 21st Street Chicago. Preliminary reports indicate that a 19-year-old female victim was standing near the sidewalk when she was approached by multiple unknown male offenders. The offenders demanded her property, and one of the offenders produced a firearm, firing shots at the victim. The young woman sustained a gunshot wound to her torso. Following the shooting, the offenders fled westbound on foot, taking the victim’s property with them. The victim was promptly transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she was initially listed in critical condition. Initially, no offenders are in custody.
